매년 전 세계에서 약 20억 켤레의 스타킹이 생산되지만,
대부분은 단기간 사용 후 폐기된다.
매립 과정에서 발생하는 미세플라스틱은 환경에 또 다른 부담을 남긴다.
본 작업은 수명을 다한 스타킹을 분해해 패턴으로 기록하고,
인트레치아토(Intrecciato) 기법을 통해 핸드백으로 재구성함으로써
폐기된 소재에 새로운 가치를 부여한다.
Each year, around two billion pairs of stockings are produced globally,
with the majority discarded after minimal use.
Often landfilled, these materials contribute to microplastic pollution.
This project upcycles end-of-life stockings
by deconstructing them, printing their patterns,
and reconstructing them into handbags
through the Intrecciato technique,
giving discarded materials new value.
