STATEMENT


  주변 환경에서 영감을 받아 작업하는 것을 좋아한다. 피부에 닿는 바람, 바람에 따라 흔들리는 물체의 흐름이나 바다에서 느껴지는 파도의 물결같이 자연이 만들어내는 ‘흐름’에 집중하며 작업을 전개한다. 이러한 흐름 위에 인간관계와 감정에 대한 개인적인 흥미와 경험을 투영한다.

  수평선 너머에서 끊임없이 밀려오는 파도에 몸을 내던진 채 가만히 떠 있을 때에 여러가지 감정들이 일순간 고요해지는 순간을 작업의 출발점으로 삼는다. 자연과 감정이 공유하는 공통된 속성인 ‘연결’과 ‘흐름’을 시각적으로 표현하는 데 관심을 두고 있다.

  섬유 작업에서는 물결치듯 이어지는 표면과 유연한 흐름을 드러내고, 패션 작업에서는 원단을 주름지게 구성해 여러 겹의 파동을 만들어내는 디자인 요소를 활용해왔다. 과장되게 힘을 주거나 인위적으로 부풀린 형태보다는, 자연스러운 인상 위에 나만의 해석을 더하는 방식으로 작업하는 것을 선호한다.



  I am drawn to working from the surrounding environment. I focus on the sense of flow found in nature—the wind brushing against the skin, objects swaying in response to it, and the rhythmic movement of waves in the sea. Within these natural currents, I project my interest in human relationships and emotional states.

  The starting point of my work often comes from moments of stillness: floating quietly while waves continuously roll in beyond the horizon, allowing complex emotions to momentarily settle into calm. Through this experience, I explore “connection” and “flow,” qualities shared by both nature and human emotion.

  In my textile practice, these ideas emerge through surfaces that evoke waves and continuous movement. In fashion, I translate them by manipulating fabric—pleating and layering it to create overlapping ripples and soft undulations. Rather than exaggerated or forcefully constructed forms, I prefer a natural sensibility, subtly shaped and refined through my own perspective.
